Which amp should i get?

That sounds good. SQ makes a nice cheap sub line. They share a lot of stuff with the sister company digital designs. It's a father/son company. DD still uses the better stuff but SQ don't slack. You will need a alternator upgrade though

i was reading that some folks with my same car (02 v6 accord) have been able to squeeze in an 01 odyssey (130 amp) alternator in there... any other ideas on this subject? or will that do it for the amperage ill be drawing?

130 ant going to do you any good. get a 220 or bigger alt.

and i like sq stuff. i have there hdc3 15" sub, a 2ch amp, 4- sq pro 6.5 speakers, 4- sq super tweeters, there q-mat.

good stuff for the money.

where would you recommend going for such an alternator? Or should i source a local guy to respin a reman alternator?

No one likes the dude that wants to annoy people from 5 cars away.
besides, are you going to try to say that ANYONE who has added enough audio equipment to their vehicle to necessitate an upgraded alternator or bank of alternators in their daily driver isnt going to, at the very least, inadvertently annoy a fellow road goer along the way?

Trying to and inadvertently are two different things.

I dont do it intentionally, matter of fact, I have been known to turn it down at red lights. Come on, if ya cant take a small joke about what this is all gonna cost me to get where i want to be... Just relax man

$400 for a alt is a great price. If you don't want to spend that find out how big yours is and don't overdraw it. That leads to lots of broken stuff that will add up to more than $400
fair point. on that note, what would all break if i do overdraw the alternator?

edit: also, ive seen where people have used welding wire to upgrade the big 3. good idea/bad idea?
