Which amp for my sub - Im new

Hey, just joined the board looking to expand the lack of knowledge I have on car audio. Anyhow I just bought a Kenwood KFC W 2505 10" subwoofer, already in a box. It has a power range of 35-300 watts RMS, peak power 600 watts and a frequency range 28-800 Hz. I really have no clue what half of that means, and I need to buy an amp that will power it correctly. I've heard you can ruin a speaker by under powering it, and the obvious by over powering it. Can anyone help me out, and suggest a common amp that I should be able to find in Canada that will suit this sub? All/any help appreciated, thanks in advance.

I don't think you can ruin a speaker by underpowering it but you can by over powering it.

ditto, looking at what ya got it looks like you might be on a budget is it single 4 ohm?, if so look for an amp that does 300-400 watts rms, look on ebay and try and find a kenwood amp i think theres a few that will do that power and dont cost much oh and by the way you cant ruin a spaker by underpowering it and a bit

Are profile amps pretty good? I just bought an 12" DVC (4 ohms) Kicker 05CVR124 that does 400 rms and I am looking for a relatively inexpensive amp...

I was thinking about maybe a Profile CL600M (note: I would be buying off of ebay NOT crutchfield). What do you think?

I just bought a profile ap1000m. this amp is awesome. love it...i have no regrets. dosent get hot hardly at all. it'll do all 300 watts it says it'll do and more.
