you're also going to need an RCA cable going between the amplifier and the headunit

On a side note, I'm a nub too....so here's my question....

Which piece of equipment does the remote wire usually come with? HU, right? Hope it's there (hu already installed from previous owner). I have amp, sub, wiring kit ready to install, but....where the **** is the remote wire? Thanks in advance....

There is a connection on the HU harness for the remote, but the actual wire usually comes with an amp kit (if you are using one). If not, you need a long piece of 16gauge wire for the remote.

Thanks a million....the kit I got from Knu includes speaker wire, but no remote wire....I was hoping to find it with the amp, no luck...thanks

On most Knu RCAs they have the remote wire built in to the cable, so on the RCA cable there should be a loose wire on the end that doesn't connect to anything, take one end on the HU and the other to the remote on the amp.
