when volume plateaus and at about 80%

Which Soundqubed subs are they? 2 15's in the right box with enough power will get much louder than what you have. I'm up by Six Flags if you need a box built for the SQ subs as I've built a TON of them....
Wish I saw your post earlier, I started on a T-line that CCstang drew up for me yesterday. So far so good , I have the walls up now and will put the ports in tonight and go from there. This box is made for an inverted sub-woofer so its a whole new concept for me. Im pretty excited , cant wait to get this bad boy built and installed. The thing that intimidates me a bit is the carpeting. Hope it looks good.

Keep in mind how the W7 mounts. Going to be a pian to do it that way.

Ok, this is a dry assembly meaning no glue or screws yet but it gave me an idea of how big it will be. The box is assembled now with no lid on it though. I have to insert the inner ports and then put the lid on it and cut out my hole. I will take more pics when I get home. In regards to the question about sub installation , from what I was told I run the phase or polarity in reverse, is there more to it ?

The only way to invert mount a W7 would be to mount it to the baffle before installing. You'd need a removable baffle if you ever want to get the sub out.

The surround covers all the mounting holes making an inverted mount difficult.

I looked into it and a bit and I think I will be using a closed cell foam type material to form a gasket. Thanks for bringing this up - that would have caught me off hand.

I looked into baffles and there are so many types. Can someone post a link to good one?

I dont feel to sure of what you mean, can you send a pic or link?
The baffle is the front piece of the box where the hole for the w7 goes. So the piece of wood you're going to cut a hole in for the sub is the baffle.

You need to attach the w7 to that piece of wood before the wood is attached to the box. That piece(the baffle) will need to be attached with screws. Not glue or you'll need to break the box to get the sub out.

Three options above

or...... why cant I just use wood screws and screw in from the top going down into the wood?

K read through most of this and first off //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/moon.gif.9d317aec3339ffe7fde0638df52c628a.gif ya'll for ragging on the P3. Lol it is a poor sub, but I had one and I remember its SQ was amazing. Then again it was my first sub so maybe I wasn't used to having bass in my ride but I do remember it being exceptionally smooth.

But I'm hitting on an earlier note here about the HU or amp discussion. Wouldn't a bigger amp increase his volume without distortion as well? I mean it amps the signal so if he had an amp thats capable of more power and gains are set right, couldn't his current 28 become the new 25 on his deck? HU doesn't distort til 28 (if his ears are as accurate as an oscilloscope) so now he gets same volume at 25 and can turn up to 28 without distortion. Correct me if I'm wrong. And if it does have to do with the amp, shouldn't just running better RCA's or a line driver be looked at to provide the amp a better signal?

A different amp will not let him safely go higher on the volume knob if his headunit clips at 28. He's not talking about getting maximum power out of his amp. He's upset that he can't turn his headunit all the way up without it clipping. You're misunderstanding what he wants.

Well no I thought he wanted his sub louder when turning it up. So if he changed his amp it could get louder until 28 until his HU clips, but oh well. Goal fulfilled of louder bass.
