What's the OLDEST stuff in your system?

Most of my system is old school because it is just plain built better and the SQ is tough to beat.

The oldest stuff would be the Magnum Professional components that are all cast aluminum even the frames and grills from 1983, they sold for $249/pr back then. I also have a pair of Cerwin Vega CS-18A's from the mid eightes that are sitting idle.

I remember Alpine's first component cassette deck the 7307 and the Fosgate (long before Rockford) PR-2100 and its other siblings. Back then (late 70's) Pioneer, Kenwood and Alpine all had proprietary interconnects so you had to stick with the same manufacturer until they slowly transitioned to standard RCA's.

I miss my Alpine 7347... Dolby B and C, and DBX! Should have never sold it! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I have a Fosgate Audionics PR220 and a PR250... need work. And the accompanying preamp (can't remember the model number). I think I've even got one of the Fosgate X360 surround-sound processors around here, somewhere.

Oh man... those Alpine, Kenwood, Blaupunkt and Pioneer DIN connectors, for preamp outs/ins. That was a crock of $#!^. We used to have to buy or make all sorts of DIN-RCA adapters, to use the stuff in systems with other gear...

Alpines and Blaupunkt were bad enough, but the Pioneer DIN connectors were the worst... HUGE size plugs. Impossible to hide under carpet, and nearly impossiible to route through crevices behind dashboards...

Regards,

Gordon.

Granted they were huge, but I never had a problem with one being too short. Everytime I installed a pioneer changer, I always ended up with a mound of extra cable I had to hide somewhere //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The HU for my system. The thing is a piece of sheet but it's still kicking.

These speakers are pretty **** old, but they're not mine. They're going into the system I'm doing for someone:
