Most of my system is old school because it is just plain built better and the SQ is tough to beat.
The oldest stuff would be the Magnum Professional components that are all cast aluminum even the frames and grills from 1983, they sold for $249/pr back then. I also have a pair of Cerwin Vega CS-18A's from the mid eightes that are sitting idle.
I remember Alpine's first component cassette deck the 7307 and the Fosgate (long before Rockford) PR-2100 and its other siblings. Back then (late 70's) Pioneer, Kenwood and Alpine all had proprietary interconnects so you had to stick with the same manufacturer until they slowly transitioned to standard RCA's.
