whats the dumbest thing you've done during installation

well, this aint to stupid, but many yrs ago, I picked up some subs, I just had to hook up. Well long story short it was about 3 am no store open, I had abox but no screws. Thats when I learned how strong ducktape can be. Yea I taped 2 12's in a box with ducktape just to see how good the subs were. Nothing to retarted but i am very impacient.

well there i was, putting in the audibahn eternal i had been waiting for for 3 weeks..terrible shipping..anyway i was putting it in and on about the third screw i slipped off n went through the rubber surround..with the excitement i had to get this and put it in my car...major letdown..evidently i had a look on my face that was derranged because my freinds moved away quickly. but some quick seal fixed the problem //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/clap.gif.178cba2c538c68e720c727fcb024b19c.gif

Well, a couple weeks ago I JUST about but a hole in the surround of one of my buddy's Total subs. OMFG I was scared SH!TTLESS, I though I had put a hole in it.

I tend to forget that power wires have power sometimes and just drop them somewhere and they just start going crazy, sometimes I go retarted and just sit there like " WTF does that wire think its doin?!"

And Sometimes I forget fuses and wonder why sh!t wont turn on.

The other day i was wiring in a new switch to turn my amp on and off (some biach broke my other switch and didnt tell me) and I had a ground wire(for the light on the switch), and the turn on wire. I used the same wire for both and i went to connect them, well i went to connect the turn on wires together and accidentially grabbed the ground and the turn on wire comming from my HU, touched em and my hu just shut off. I just about shat myself thinkin i blew my HU, but then I was like, 'Oh the fuse just blew" pull out the fuse, it aint blown. So now im thinking,"good job, why dont I just go jump of a frickin cliff" Well, then I remembered there is another fuse in the fuse box for the radio, look in the owners manual and find one that says "audio" so i pull the fuse and it aint blown, HOLY CRAP, i was about in tears when i looked down at my owners manual(took one last glance at it before I went to throw it agaisnt the wall) and I noticed the word "radio", so I pulled that fuse and it was blown. Dam, i was about ready to kill someone too.

One more thing(YES, i tend to go retarded sometimes) I accidentially hit the toggle switch for my amp and turned it off. I was like wtf, look back at my amp while drivin down the highway and its not on, so I pull over to look at the fuse under the hood, its ok, looked at the wiring, its fine, checked my hu, its fine, i was sittin along the hiway cussin so loud, shakin my fist as people drive by, I couldnt imagine what some people were thinkin as they drove by. Get back in my truck and just sit there like 'sh!t', look down my switch is off. Look around, flip it on, drive. man.

I pulled off my first installation fine, it was a couple months later when I was hookin up my friends system. No, I didnt mess his up, but I sure wish I had. Anyway, we had everything hooked up and realized he didnt have any speaker wire. Since I was so excited to put my first system in, I just used all the speaker wire, so I had about 6 feet extra. I decided to go to my car and cut most of mine off for him to use and reconnect the cut end back to my amp. I put em both on not thinking which was positive or negative and went back to work on his system. I realized what I had done before I turned my system on, so I looked at my connections and realized that I had wired em wrong, so I switched em. The next day after about an hour of driving, my bass stopped and I opened my trunk to see smoke coming out of the port hole of my box. I had it wired right the first time, it is when I thought I had it wrong and changed it that my system met its demise. That was only two days ago. It still hurts...

Was building a box for my cm3s... pulled one out of the old box(still in my car) to make sure the hole I had cut for the new box was going to be big enough for them. Wasn't paying attention when I took it out of the old box and thought it still had one screw left in the top, so I wasn't holding it when I removed the bottem screw. Next thing I knew the sub was falling and I heard a snap. I had snapped off one of the push terminals for the speaker wire... Ohh well was an easy fix from radioshack but wastill dumb.

I ran all my wires, everything, connected everything, went to fire it up and take the first listen....turned out the remote turn on wire was wired to the wrong wire on the HU.....took like 4 minutes to figure it out....

I havent made ne bad mistakes

Not securing the amp on top of box....A slip and slide. I drive hard...whooopsie //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smash.gif.499e08a4a35ffaf54f4c8194fb8fe8ed.gif

well I havn't really made any big mistakes except I didn't have a solder gun so I used a heat gun for a solder gun and kinda started my carpet on fire in my old car lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smash.gif.499e08a4a35ffaf54f4c8194fb8fe8ed.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/imdaman.gif.bc6c552e19aa4ad8c47461144f40eb1a.gif

I wouldnt mount the amp ANYWHERE on a box! The vibrations could damage the amp over time!!
