whats the dumbest thing you've done during installation

Oh yea, another thing. One day my system just stopped working. So I checked the fuses and connections and they seemed to be alright. I spent about 1 1/2 hours getting to my sub amp and then my grandpa-in-law picked up my power wire from the battery tray and said, "Would this cause a problem?". It was a very sad moment for me...

Wheres the updated version? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

mine was there was a quarter inch peice of wood/carpeted over my spare, i drilled through it and drilled into my spare . lol
**** mine still seems like what a retard would do, also o blew a fuse so i ran just power wire through the fuse, reminder i was 15 when i did this first install, i had my car when i was 15, already , couldnt drive to much but o well, ne ways, i ran the power wire through the door, then since no fuse it couldnt blow, BIG MISTAKE, well i opened the door, pinched the wire, f*ckin wire turned so bright red, started on fire melted all the surround off, melted the top of my battery, melted my tub that holds the windsheild washer fluid, sucked ***,

I was working on an install for my friend. Had my drill, I ran it through my front door with an extention cord. If you've ever used a drill and looked at the plug, it's bulky and rubber. Well, I got out of the trunk and went to drill again, and the cord was hooked on my toolbox on my front lawn. So I whipped the cord to try and jar it loose, and the plug pulled out of the extention cord and nailed me right in the nose. I was bleeding pretty bad. Grabbed a few band aids, and went back to work //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

the day we got our very first prototype LI's i wanted to swap them in a friends car to see what they had........in haste, i poked a hole in his RF HX2.....darn, i still owe him a woofer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I was installing uninstalling a 3 farad cap, didn't discharge it yet (i.e. it was fully charged), and while unscrewing the power terminal I accidently touched the allen wrench to the little metal carriage thingy that holds on the factory 6x9 "boxes", and it got lodged inbetween that tray and the cap.......not good at all. The cap had fully discharged before I was able to get the allen wrench out. I about fried my entire electrical system....LOL. I had a remote start/car alarm, and my lights were randomly flashing and my car tried starting a few times while the current was running through my entire car....it was nuts, like the car had a mind of it's own....LOL

just the other day,, was running 0/1 guage power in my explorer... i ran it underneathe the chasis... ran wire a lil to long and while driven down the road.. the wire had fallen on my headers... melted the wire to the headers... my HU, tv. dvd player, amps everything just shut off... i was ready to give up car audio.. i thought i had blown everything.... pulled the wire off the headers and replaced the 140 amp fuse... everything works fine...

Here's my dumb installation-related mistake:

Installing a system using a Diamond Audio 7104 amplifier, which can easily draw 80-100 amps, in a car that had a 35 amp alternator.

Even at low volumes, if I drove an hour the battery would be dead and I'd have to push start the car.

Now the amp is in my basement, because it doesn't fit in my truck either.

Doh.

Speaking of "cars with their own mind", ever watch christine(the movie)

Put a whole in the cone of my mid with a powerdrill slip mounting my last set after a good 1.5-2hrs of workin on it and running wires/dampening ddors......I was borderline mental that day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif
