Whats exactly wrong with Kicker & JL?

I praise you sir, for supporting the use of the Dayton's HO. They are an amazing sub!!!
thanks man. they def are great subs. I'd recommend em to anyone and their mom and probably her mom too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

if theres any brand anyone can say I "nuthug" its Boston Acoustics! i dont care what anyone says, they make a great product and IMO, the prices are very good.as for amps, as you can see from my sig, I run a Kicker and BA amp. I dont trust too many amps especially after having a Hifonics Brutus that ran hotter than a prostitute's cooch. So I stick with mainstream on my amps, thats just me.

I keep hearing more and more about JBL...just cant find a place to put any in my build though....
I think you were they guy who recommended me give BA's comps a try. And, I just might. I'm torn between BA's and some Massives. Dunno yet. And, yea, BA's pricing per what you get sold me. I got a 1000 watt @ 2ohm amp for $239 brand new before Sonicelectronix's prices on BA went up to match that of Crutchfield. So, I just ordered the matching GTA-704 from audiosavings for the cheaper price (good webstore btw). I went with the BA monoblock because I had a Rockford P1000-1bd that I got retail before going the DIY route, and I wasn't about to give RF what they wanted for their matching 4 channel. So, I sold the Rockford and jumped brands for amps.

I would've went for Kicker amps were it not for their fixed subsonic filter @ 25 hz on their monos. I want a brutal 20 hz response because I'm just strange like that, and the BA amp coupled with my ridiculously low tuned box makes my trunk lid, roof, and all 4 doors wave in and out at 20 hz.

The premier version of the TS-D1720C, the TS-D720C, are identical. I'm running the TS-C720PRS components in my car. I just wanted to clarify that for you. By your post, I'm not too sure which mids you were talking about.

Imo kicker is a decent sub not the best sq sub but the l7s are pretty clean imo. Ive owned many sets from comps,cvrs,l7s . The comps where 2 10 4 ohm and took 500@2 ohm for months rated for 300. The cvrs sounded better but lows a little muddy. Jl is ok better sq but price on both are where the issue lies. Ive heard some other subs that arent mainstream zound just as good and better.

that probably was me. the SSF at 25hz is a buzz kill....so I turned it off completely //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/suave.gif.858fc102f7646e678ee8af7e1fbc41d1.gif The boston amps def are great for the price....i paid 105 or 110 shipped refurb'd on my current GT 40 and its great! 1 ohm stable stereo, 2 ohm stable bridged, built in fan....underrated power. What more can ya ask for that price?

i'm still waiting on someone to show me a sub for 300 shipped new thats better SQ-wise than the w6.

I agree on the Kickers, they dont sound nearly as nasty as people make them seem though

Dang. She won't let me go look. I supposedly have a Christmas present stashed in her trunk. OK, so I'm gonna look at the big pics on sonicelectronix and see if I can see the switch I've never seen before for some reason...
