i was wondering about that as well, i have no experience with the tc stuff though so I couldnt comment. I just see the w6 as being pretty hard to beat in SQ

re xxx, jbl gti, fi q, shiva x2, idmax, sundown z, all subs id get over w6 for sq and same price or cheaper

I run daytons and they do not "kill" the w6. Better sq wise? Yes IMO alot ccheaper? Yes. I will claim all of that. Even tho I liked some aspects of the w6 over my Daytons. Not one of those oother subs would I even consider for SQ over the w6....maybe the Shiva.

Regardless, the norm has been to say "plenty of subs will KILL JL for much less" still no proof of this. Being that some aspects of SQ are subjective, though, one could like the subscribe you mentioned over tthe w6, but the fact that it has a JL badge on it shouldn't be the reason people are told to completely stay away from JL. To say there's much better for much lless is simply untrue.

Edit: I also had a Fi Q and....kill the w6 in SQ? Gtfo.

We're not talking about getting loud while sounding good. True SQ!

Its not untrue. The XXX, JBL MKiii, Stereo Integrity Subs, Creative Sound Solutions XBL^2 subs, any TC subs, Boston G5's, are just more than a handful.

None of those are "much better". Some are not even as good. They may or may not be cheaper, haven't looked at pricing on em.

no tc sounds sub is even as good as the w6 in true sq, neither is the XXX. I wouldn't consider the Brahma either. The SI has a chance, that's about it out of your list. We aren't talking sounds good with an extended low end, we mean sq. IE flat response and most of all transparency.

Its simple really. Kicker your paying for the name. Sure their amps do rated power, but for a 2500wrms amp you pay $670 online price. An Audioque 2200 goes for $429.00. Dang near the same wattage rms for $240 less.
JL audio same thing. You pay for the name. There are plenty of subs out there that crush the W6 and W7 in SQ and output for a fraction of the cost. Anything TC based for example unless you get way up into the custom LMS 18's and stuff. Their amps are the same way. 1000wrms (Slash 1000/1) for $600? Dont think so. You can get an equal or better amp for half that price.

Point being you can get equal or better gear for less. The only thing you pay for is the badge.

the old xxx 04/05 is one of the sexiest sounding subs out their and the shiva-x2 sounds way better then the w6
