whats a cheaper but same quality sub that can go toe to toe with type r 12

ok now we have a problem i might be having to lessen the sub box size because i might be having another mouth to feed and with that comes needing more truck space
the subwoofer box i used to have was this Ground Shaker GSP312 12" Triple Ported Subwoofer Enclosure Box GSP 3 12 Black | eBay

and it left me with reasonable room in trunk, would it be smart to get a custom box made with the same Measurements
The problem with that prefab box is that it's not even 3.5 cf. You need 4cf for just TWO of your sub's. That's why it's being recommended that you get a custom enclosure. At this point, you should forget running 3 and just do 2 sub's in a nice box. Sell one and put the funds toward getting a nice enclosure shipped to you.

That being said, you should be able to fit 2 12's ported in a Crown Vic with a good amount of room left over. Those trunks are pretty big.

i was thinking of just using two, if i chhose to just use two subs will the Q1-2200.2 Amplifier Q1-2200.2 Amplifier be still ok to use, it wont be to much power?

if thats the case man, shoulda only bought two instead of 3, Would have been louder with two in a proper box. Space makes bass man, No space = no bass. You are better off running two at this point since thats all the room you have. You can try trading the 3rd one for a custom box.
FYI, I just got a FU audio 12 too for my buddie's build, came in yesterday. Did some testing They dont do well in sealed boxes which is the only box you can do if want to run 3. Its going into a 1.6 cubic feet ported box tuned to 35hz tomorrow on 1.2k watts. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Was the ground shaker box perfect fit? Or can you squeeze in a few inches somewhere?
it was a perfect fit

it went straight into the deep hole and was perfect it. im not to sure if you are familer with crown vic trunks but... http://images.gtcarlot.com/pictures/70869132.jpg

That amp will still be fine. Just set the gains with a DMM for whatever amount of power your looking to run. Do a Google search for "gain setting tutorial" and read up on how to set the gain to the amount of power you want.

Hm, I wasn't aware the trunk was like that. If you can squeeze a few more inches in any direction over the prefab, you should be able to get 4+cf net in the deep part and leave you some room for storage around the enclosure.

I retract my statement CHeap can get loud!
Cheaper than type R in price but WAAAAY more balls than a type R can dream of. Made in USA 3 year warranty, cant beat that son! You only got today left though. Either way, you cannot put it in a crappy cheap box you buy from ebay/amazon. You need to either build your own box or have a proper builder build them for you. That goes for any sub you get. The box is the key ingredient on getting you loud along with quality power(amp and electrical upgrades).

FU Car Audio, fu audio, fu car audio
you shouldve retracted anyway.. i hit 150+ on 500.00 system... in my sig of old account... lol (it was a cone area build though)

pioneer champion series will sh*t on both the type rs and the sa12s... and at a 98 a sub cheaper...

best option in my eyes is the xfl... but you do know what ever you save on cash is gonna go right back in to needed power... lol and anything aq/sq ... they make great products at a reasonable price point... but if your not against used i got two type r 12's with original shipping boxes and optional matching type r screens... id sell you pretty cheap... but everything depends on what you like or are looking for sound wise... lows, loud etc...

my plan was to add inches to the height

Do some measuring and see how much space you can get away with. Hit up a designer/builder and see what they can do with the space you have. If you sell the extra sub, that offsets some of the price for the enclosure. You should be able to get a custom enclosure for 2 sub's for around the same price the prefab+extra sub was going to cost. In other words, you're down a sub but have a better setup due to having the correct enclosure.

Considering @gotgixers had a taramps hd 8000 on them, i dont think you will have any problems with them on a 2200. In fact itll just enough to push two and not enough to push 3.
