Whats 140dbs suppose to sound like?

and yes thats exactly what my box looks like except sub is more to the right and bottom wedge is an 1nch or 2 bigger (i just re-measured) 4'' areo port 18'' long. it was built and designed by micheal huges, but i assumed he knew what he was doing based on his other designs and box enclousures as well he is familiar with hd3s, and my box fits perfectly in my mustang trunk....!!!F-en A...so did i mess up there?
Even with a few inches at the bottom, you're still looking at an enclosure that is tuned very low for that sub with way too little port area.

I would get a new enclosure design with proper port area, tuning, and enclosure volume.

That box design is very piss-poor for that sub; look away from the amp and onto the enclosure.

No i dont have Test thats what i was told by the owner of RD.

but anyways, nah i dont know anyone with a meter is SD. i THINK Dante Bristol (brisbol i dont remember) who is a member on her has one though and hes in the SD area.

hardtop, the exact on your talking about. i have 03 mustang
i did a box once for a guy in a mustang. 1 12'' R facing up and and one 4'' aero to the side. box is like 2.4 cubes net. he has a 800 watt kenwood and stock battery and no big 3. he does a 139 legal

yea its roughly equal to about 25^2 in of a slot port. a little shy of what AQ recommends at 16^2 per cube. maybe try to get 1 6" aero? 1 6" aero has more port area than 2 4's (roughly equivalent to 56^2in of slot port area).
but it seems like you might be limited in how much room you have to play with. more port area is going to require a longer port.

and more power never hurt anyone...
who sais this?

my 1 immortal can get **** close to 140 on music with it tuned at ~36hz or so.. have adjustable ports and stil messing around.. but I think its loud for a daily.. IMO.. I have 2 of them but i cant figure a way to fit both in the trunk of my civic //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

WALL IT!

who sais this?
bigbassman (loyd lowry) and djman37.

loyd's testing shows that a 4" aero which is 12.69^2 in is equivelant to about 25^2 of a standard slot port. a 50% reduction over a slot port.

djman37's testing shows a 50-60% reduction over a slot port with no loss in performance. he used 2 6" aeros on 2 DD 9515.

neither bigbassman or djman are slouches in competition, you can ask around.

so using these examples, a 4" aero is equivalent to 25^2 in of a slot port style and a 6" aero ( which is 28.27^2 in) is equivalent to 56^2 of a slot port.

I bassraced a 136 or 7 with 1 12 and 3k watts in my Expedition. As a daily driver, it was plenty loud for me. My 15 was louder, but I never got it metered. I doubt 1 12 in a trunk car is going to do a 140 without a lot of work.
