what would you do? (shipping problem)

Alright- long story short- I sold a member here a bunch of parts (several coils, a basket, cones,

etc) It was 3 boxes. he paid promptly, i shipped promptly. time comes, he says he only got 2 of the 3 boxes (even though delivery confirmation said he got all 3) and he said he was, of course.. missing some parts. so.. i STILL resent more parts, to be nice, and because honestly, i don't know what happened to that 3rd box (even though it says delivered.. for all i know, the guy has it) and offered him a partial refund. he gets back to me today saying "i still don't have these certian coils, i don't know how to make it more clear" and he wants to send everything back, and get a FULL refund. i am not willing to do this, simply because i am not giving him all of his money back for me to get only SOME of the parts back. so.. on top of the extra parts i sent him, i sent him an ADDITIONAL $60 back (this was a $300 sale, fwiw) what would YOU have done?

 
Doesn't make sense how it shows it was delivered, but as in Decado's position, his package was delivered but nothing to be found in the box. Different situation, but you gave him the benefit of the doubt. You sending more parts to him in replacement for others was generous, some people would have said screw you. Him wanting his money back and sending parts back to you is BS. I wouldn't do it. Been in that situation before locally. You're not Wal-Mart, best buy or some sort of chain store. You did more than enough, you sent more parts and additional $60. It's not your fault he's unhappy.

IMO: He's being the dick because you have tried acommodating him twice. Don't feel bad. As a seller I try to make the buyer happy, but I've been screwed a couple times being too nice. If they are not satisfied with the product with the said description, that is their problem. They can go find product elsewhere.

 
I dont do many sales or know alot about shipping, but I would have contacted the shipping service to have them verify in some way each package was delievered. Doesn't each shipping label get scannened before being delievered anyway? That was the case for me at least when I ordered my Dell.

I think you have done more then what you should have. It seems to me as if he is just trying to pull one over on you. If you do refund him (which you shouldn't) make him give you a inventory list of what was received so that you won't lose out anymore then you already have.

He is just trying to see how far you are willing to go. He was lucky you were a good seller and accomodated him as much as you did. I say screw him. You went above and beyond your duty to make thing's right.

to be honest.. the $60 was a refund for 2 spider/coil assemblies, that i charged him $7.50 EACH for (iirc). come on now.. the guy made a profit..

 
The seller did a lot to accommodate the buyer, especially the extra box and partial refund. The seller should call UPS and see what happened. Depending on how much you insured it for, you can probably get an insurance refund.

 
yea seriously. same thing happened to me. guy said not delivered, and i had to file a claim with UPS. they ended up sending me a check. the guy got banned and i ended up just spending the check. he then made a new name to sell the subs on here he said he didnt receive.

 
file a claim with UPS, if you have transactions receipts for the refund you gave him, eventually you may even end up getting that money back. i hate when people do this more than anything, i know first hand the feeling. caught between a rock and a hard place, not knowing how to handle the situation.
