What would you do if boss said you couldnt have off for friends funeral?

You need to go be there for your buddy. The day after you should show up and then see what he says. But "No Call, No Show" is automatic termination, volentary termination, un contested. So, leave it be and turn in your work attire when you go back the next day. DONT try to PHUCK with it by begging for your job or sum chit. Man up and take your rewards for having a heart with those balls...

i still believe im going to quit its time for a change been there for almost sick months and sick of it and they piss me off all the time everyone that works there want to quit but they are full time and cant afford to. we are also a meet market and fish market so we have a few full time workers.

Just go since your not union he has the right to fire you but im sure you can get a new job easily after that just go to the local news and have them chastise him for doing such a thing im sure that he'll lose alot of business and alot of other people will see this and possibly offer you a job. ive seen crazier shit on the news.

My friend got killed 2 days ago and he is being buried tomorrow i am 17 and my boss wont let me off to get to his burial he said me going in the morning to see him them leaving is enough but i want to go to the church and the grave sight this is just a part time job i am considering quitting.
what would you do?\

Well no one can stop you, but he can certainly use it against you for reprimand. Most companies only excuse time off for death in the family. This was only a friend.

I understand how important it is for you to be there but you also have to look at the economy and how bad you need the money, are you going to be able to handle obligations like insurance and shit. How easy would it be to get another job ? I would be pissed but karma will come back around to him if he doesnt let you off.

**** what anyone says about the economy. it was a good friend of yours. if you find another job, don't lie about anything either. say ''Yea i worked at a gas station for so and so months/years. Then my best friend i grew up with got in a bad car accident and i gave him a week notice of the situation and he said i couldn't go, so i told him i was going to go because he treats his employees' way unfair. I went back the next day after the funeral and he started screaming at me and throwing things and then fired me.'' 99% of jobs at your age would understand the situation. you want out anyways. if you pay for your car, have a parent help you out until you find another job and just pay them back. it's not worth staying there. no jobs are really good, and you'll deal with these kinds of people all the time. but sometimes you just have to let go. they cant control your life. i quit work at a nursing home last year for probably 50 different reasons. and when i left, i broke every dish they had, broke the juice machine, etc. they were ****ed and it cost them alot of money. just dont do that shit. the only reason i got away with it was because i could have had the place shut down for a reason i wont get into. but yea, just like everyone else on here said, just man up and go
