What would you do if boss said you couldnt have off for friends funeral?

i've always wanted to cause a scene when quitting a job, you have a great opportunity to do this.

i came to work one time 30 minutes early...chilled then i see its 20 minutes after my time to clock in and i go and tell a few people im leaving then tell my boss i quit cuz im having a bbq at home. day before i took a 3 hour lunch to go swiming lol. good ole circuit city

yea i want to quit hes always expecting you to read his mine and know what he wants you to do that is extra work. but i dont want to get fired that would make me look bad if i put an aplication out i i have to put that i was fired before i much rather put that i quit a job.

to me if the job was legit, they would easily understand the need for a day off for a funeral of a close friend.. He says no reguardless i would skip work that day and go to your friends funeral. You can get plenty of jobs being young. He probably needs you too so wont fire you..

dont just miss somthing important because your boss says work comes first.. fùck that

tell him you are going. Then go. I doubt he will fire you and if he does, who cares. You are a 17 year old male, shouldn't be hard for you to find a new job.

well, no work is extra work. when youre on the clock, youre getting paid to do something. who cares what it is right? try and remember that bro.

as far as the quitting or getting fired part. first off, youll soon realize that if its not an important job, they wont even look at that anyway, so you can lie and say you quit. if it is an important one, im sure the employer could understand why.....

I have quit part time jobs for fairly stupid reasons. You have a VERY good reason to miss work. If your boss cannot understand that, **** him. Just don't show up.

Don't go. I'd quit a good job over that kind of shit, let alone a gas station job. Not knocking you for being employed, just saying. Either way it works, don't put it on your next app. If you do, explain the situation.

well you see by extra work i mean we close at 9 and i have to shut down the kitchen which take about an hour cutting it close. Well im almost done washing dishes with about 30 min left which is just enough time to filter the fryer grease and mop. well he comes in with the gigantic food box glass pieces and tells me to clean them and dry thim this take another 30 min which makes us not leave the store till 9 35 and hes *****ing and yelling that i took to long and i should have been finished at closing. many cases similar to this happen.
