What would be a louder setup 4 12s or 2 18s?

Not necessarily, there are way too many variables to answer which will be louder. I was just curious because everyone was measuring the cone area of round 12s not square 12s.

Good point. And since kicker claims that their square subs are 16-20% more cone area than a round sub, then 4 12's is at least 524 inches... So there goes the cone area advantage for the 18's. 3000 watts is probably a better match for the l7's as opposed to the btl's too...

 
Everyone is so busy showing how smart they are and correcting everyone else, that they don't take the second to think that 3.14r^2 is the formula to figure the area of circles... not squares. Now everyone has to figure out the formula to find the area of a square.
