Hey guys! What's up? I know there have probably been threads like this in the past, but I did a search and did not really find anything too similar. Anyway...

My questions to all of you are:

What was your very first car audio setup?

Did you like it? Was it what you expected?

How long did it last before you upgraded?

my current set-up is my first setup:

-2002 Dodge Durango 5.9 R/T

-Alpine CDA-9827 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

-3 JL 10w3v2-D6s in a sealed box (0.75 cubic feet each) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

-Polk somethings in the front //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

-Alpine something powering the fronts

-Audiobahn A8002T, and it pushes them perfectly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

-Custom Mounted Microvision 7 inch MTV7000BCT monitor, by far the best for the money, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

after graduation:

-Audi S4

-2 JL 12W6v2-D4s

-JL 1000/1

-Another Alpine Deck

-2 JL 8W3v2s for midbass

-2 JL 300/2s?

-Same Monitor

-Viper with pager/remote start, forget model number (yes i know its dangerous in a stick car, but i plan on rigging up some sensor tells whether its in neutral or not)

Old school JBL home audio 3 way towers and an 8 track.

I loved it. It was more than I expected. My friends thought I was cool, so there. I still have the 8 track in my garage and towers are somewhere in the basement. Those were the good 'ole days ... four door '66 Malibu 'hard top' with the 8cyl. Rusted out drivers floorboard. The passengers job was to take the bucket and dump water on my legs during roadtrips for baseball ... I was a knothead one day in the shop with a welder, some tubing, the exhaust, and you get the rest. When cars were cars.

My current setup is also my first set up... well at first I had two 8" Legacy subs in a bandpass box, but lets not speak of that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif . Check my sig for details.

It sounds nice, the subs hit hard, but I think a nice set of components and a bigger ported box would definitely be an improvement.

2 12" RF type z's or something like that with a RF amp.. Sony HU

2 12" W0's with the same RF amp.... Pioneer 7500 HU

2 12" Kicker Compvr's with Kicker amp same HU

2 12" JL w6's JL Amp Same HU

1 15" SX... Hifonics Amp pioneer 8600 HU

1 15" XXX.. MTX 1501D Amp Dvd player

1 15" Brahma Extreme Same Amp and HU

In a 1995 S10 a single 10" Sony Xplode... powered by a Jensen 150w amp, and some panasonic cd player. It lasted until i got out of the parking lot where i blew it returned it and got a Kenwood sub.

First Set-up:

Subs: 2 12" Debeisi Subs (125w RMS a piece)

Amp: 600w Peak Pyle Amp

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Current Set-up:

Deck: Alpine CDA-9831

Front Speakers: 2 Alpine Type R 5 1/4 and tweeters

Rear Speakers: 2 Alpine Type R 6x9

Speaker Amp: 4x75w RMS Alpine amp

Subs: 2 12" Alpine Type R

Subwoofer Amps: 2 375w RMS Alpine amps

Box: Custom Alpine Box (specialty made for my car)

Deadener: Dynamat (Doors & Trunk)

Quite the difference, eh? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

2 Jensen 10" subs in a bandpass box (125wrms each)

MTX thunder 250x amp

some old Pioneer HU

this was b4 i knew anything about car audio. i had my subs series wired which meant the amp gave a wopping 50wrms total. but i had the gains all the way up...my dumbass friend told me to do this, i didnt know any better then. suprisingly the subs lasted the 2-3 years that i had them while in extreme clipping (shocking huh?).
