What Was Your First Setup?

hmm 5 years ago or so. verrrrryyyy first car would have been 2 pioneer's in a prefab box (subs didnt match one was a free air) with rockwood 6x9 in boxes on the rear shelf. ford tempo speakers stuck in the door (via magnet) and the stock HU. profile califorina amp for the subs. when i got done with that car, there was a sony HU, and a real pair of 4" speakers in the doors and an mtx amp for the subs (profile was used on the 6x9's)

edit

and the car was a 1988 hyundai excel. it was loud enough that i put whole in my rear fender where it was rusted out.

Kenwood "Mask" Headunit..can't recall model #, but it was the ABSOLUTE WORST headunit I've ever used in my life. In the 6 months I owned it, it was in the shop getting fixed a total of 5 times. I probably only actually had it in my car a total of 1 month out of the 6 I owned it. Worthless POS.

Pioneer co-axials in all 4 corners (powered by the HU).

Sentrek 2 channel amplifier

Two 10" Sentrek subwoofers in a prefab bandpass enclosure

It was the bomb-diggity...LOL. I used to get super impressed when I found a song that would actually make my rear view mirror vibrate a little. Me and my friends would be cruising around "Oh man, did you see that...I think I saw it vibrate a little bit. Reverse that, play that part of the song again..."

Awe the good ole days.....

2x RF Punch,

1x archaic Pyramid amp; Little purple bastard was solid!

1x Dual headunit

0x headliner or deadening.

Car rang like a bell, man. I usedta hit mute in the middle of a note, to hear the ceiling 'verb.

Should've heard the rain in that car. Like 125db //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The 'system' outlasted the car.

i had 2 kicker impulse subwoofers in a "cow print" carpeted box. sealed. it was so loud to me on a legacy "1000" watt amplifier. i loved those days, but my amp filled up my car with smoke.

bout a year ago had 2 12" volfenhag subs (didnt even know the rms) in 2 bandpass boxes powered by an american legacy amp 2000watts baby! And the 6x9"s i still have and deck is also still the same //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

My first real setup was a few years back. An Alpine CDA-7893 (5?), Alpine 6.5" 2-ways up front, Kenwood 3-way 6x8" in back, and a Kicker XS-50 powering 2 solobaric s10d SVCs. Still trying to comprehend why I ever sold that amp. The car was the '93 SHO in my avatar.
