What was your first car audio set up?

First real system was in my 86 Daytona, in about 95

2 B-52 12's on a Punch 200ix

Sony 6020 running a sony Comp set up front and pioneer 5x7 in the rear,

Crossover was a shurwood and then an alpasonic.

Here is actual pics of my equipment that I had back in 1994 (wasnt my first stuff, because I started back in the late 80's but I didnt have pics of that stuff)

Sony CDX A-10 Waterproof CD changer. Made for 4x4 vehicles initally in a limited run production. Came without head unit - all you had was a controller you mounted in your visor or in my case replaced my rear view mirror.

Two Earthquake EQ-15's - 250 watts RMS dual 4 ohm drivers in IB mount in the front trunk of my car.

Lol, 2 years ago same subs i have now bought from bestbuy (Type r's) in a box bought from bestbuy with wiring ran by bestbuy and a 600 watt alpine amp running at 4 ohm's for about 300 watts split between 2 Type R's... lol

Now the only thing I have left from that install is the subs and 1 remote wire to start my sub amp, all the rest of it, including the box is I'm proud to say my own labor and thanks to the knowledge i gained on this forum and ROE over the past 7 months...

Thank you CA.com for making me feel inadequate about my old setup and spending 1400+ dollars to buy happiness, only to find out that i want to be louder... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

You guys didn't learn stuff the hard way. When I was 13 I started getting interested in this stuff. I found a tiny 2 channel pioneer amp in a truck I bought. I didn't even know what a remote wire was, but I managed to make the thing make sound. I took apart an old set of house speakers and slapped that behind the seat. It was all run off a shitty kenwood tape deck. Then I upgraded to a box I made out of pine board. I slapped in two RF series 1 8" subs and two shitty 6x9's (no dividers). LOL.

Then I started to buy some more quality stuff as I talked to others who actually knew something about car audio.

Ahh, the good old days. The days when a good set of 5 1/4's made huge bass!!! LOL.
