Well, I hate to admit it, but I blew my sub right before I started this thread. It's fixed now and I want to make sure I don't do it again. Cass from AQ said it had been clipped badly. He suggested an extra battery to help prevent voltage drops which I have on the way. I went ahead and tried to set the gains today at 55 volts which should be about 1500 watts at 2 ohms. The problem is with the bass boost off I have to turn the gain about halfway before I can even get that much out of it. I know everyone says bass boost is the devil but if I turn it on about a quarter of the way I just have to turn the gain barely past a quarter to get 55 volts. In order to get 70 volts which my amp should be capable of doing my gain would have to be about three quarters without bass boost. I want to get the most I can out of my set-up but I don't want to blow anymore subs. I have a 200 amp alt, big 3, with 1/0 gauge throughout. When I blew the sub before, the bass boost was completely off but I had to set my gains very high. Has anybody ever had this problem with the kx2500? Any other advice?
p.s. I searched the forums for about 3 hours before this post but I still am confused on what to do.
