What type of wood to make a box?? HELP?

hey i have a friend who wants to make a box.

i am going to help him so he wants to know the best type of wood or if there is a special

type of wood. He has 2 12 rockford p2's

we want to make a port on it also

so how many cubic feet should it be if we want to make a port.
