What type of amp

ok so i bought a se of duals over the summer and now i need an amp what type should i get? RMS is 450 and peak is 1100. Thanks

A model number would help.

450w per sub or total? Are they dual voice coil subs? Single? Are they in an enclosure? How is it wired? Do you have a budget? Do you want decent performance or do you want to wring every last bit of output you can get from them?

IM not entirely sure what the model number is because it is an off brand. There in a ported box with the termianls on the outside. I have a budget of under 400 and i would like decent preformance. Also i hate to say i dont know if they are dual or single coil.

Since they're already enclosed and there are terminals on the box you don't need to know much other than the resistance at the terminals.

You need to get a digital multi-meter (DMM) to do that. Wal-mart has them for $10-15, or if you have a harbor freight locally they usually have one for $5 or less.

BTW - Are there one or two pairs of (+/-)?

I'm sure it's either a 2 or 4 ohms, but it's hard to recommend an amp without knowing which it is.

alright i found out that it is 4 ohms

research how to set your gain properly, or just set it very conservatively.

You're going to need an amp kit - 8 ga would be cutting it pretty close, most people would tell you to get a 4 ga kit.
