What to seal box with.

Building a box for 4 8" ID subs this weekend. What can I use from Home Depot or Lowes to seal the box up with. I will be using Woodglue of course and also wanted to run some sealer on the inside.

I just use a generic caulk. Make your you let the box air out for like 24hrs.

You can use glue, silicone caulking, liquid nails, etc. Lots of compounds will do the job of

sealing up a subwoofer box.

I just buy the cheapest clear silicone caulk when fixing someone else's box. On my own just wood glue when putting together and no caulk is needed. I just run a thick bead of glue. When the screws squeeze it out I use a rubber glove and knock the bead down inside and out. Makes a perfect seal every time.

Dont use silicone. Non silicone caulk is what I use.

Thanks guys. Don't trust me wood glue ability so ill use woodglue and some Non Silicone caulk.

Normal silicone emits acetic acid (vinegar) as it cures, which will eat your drivers and electronics! If you must use it, allow a few days for the fumes to dissipate before mounting your subs.

liquid nails in the blue/tan tube ... good stuff.. can do your whole box easy on a less than 3 dolar tube
