WHAT SUB FOR 1800 watts @ 1ohm going for spl

If the box is built properly yes, you will be closer to 150 then you will be 140. When I put mine in I am hoping for 148+ but I am going all out so I hope I can do it. Extremly powerful driver, can take more power then you can give it and still keep on smilying. Great guys as well, very informitive and will answer any and all questions you have...

Jon

a 150 on the classic termlab maybe....new termlab, no.

will i be able to hit in the 140's with a 15 and 1800 watts assuming box is properly built and such
I have a 15" SI D2 in a 4 cu/ft box tuned to 28 hz with a hifonics 1500 on it. Ive hit 144.4 on little jon music and 145.1 on bass tracks at bass contests so Im pretty sure with a IA DP you can get much heigher. What brand is this amp btw

and 28 Hz isn't even really an SPL tune...that still retains a lot of SQ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif bump the tuning freq. up to 35-40 Hz, and watch the numbers rise, if that's what you're looking for.

The Mt is only good for competition use....and 1800 watts isnt enough to get it moving.... it needs more than 1800 by far. I would say a XXX... 15". That sub will get loud, but when turned down, sounds amazing in the SQ department

If I did bump the tuning up to say 40, what kind of gains can I expect? What about the SQ?

it would get significantly louder...how much so depends on the install. You'd lose a lot of the SQ, it would become more "one-noted" and less musical, the transient response would start to fall off, etc, etc...
