ok right now i have 4 gauge in my car and i have a kenwood 640 4 channel and i am getting a hifonics bx605 for my sub. would i still be fine going down to 8 gauge out of the distro block. or should i use 4 gauge? and what is better ground each amp seperatly at the same spot or putting them into a distro block and grounding from there

From what I've read if the run from distro to amp is short you could get away w/ 8, but 4 would be best. I'm not sure on the ground, but I will be running a common ground to a distro block to each amp.

i always give each amp its own ground but you can get away with just one grounding point. I like to give them their own ground to make the wires shorter, and also by using the same ground you run the EXTREMELY VERY RARE risk of amplifier ground modulation This is caused by the current demands of the woofer amp modulating the ground wire of a comp amp, it causes a squeaking noise that can be heard over the tweeters when the bass hits.

The power wire should be ok just make sure you keep the 8 gauge wire as short as possible
