What size/type amp do I need?

What type and size amp do i need. I have 4 stock speakers and want to put in a sub box-in a pickup truck. I had one installed in a car I had a few years ago but dont remember the size or type.I'm trying to find out some facts about the basics-as you can tell. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

first, you have to determine what kind of speakers and sub before buying an amp. An amp might be too weak, or too pwoerful for your speakers.

Usually, 50w RMS to speaekrs and 200~300 watts to a sub is sufficient for a moderate system.
