What size subwoofers?

youre going to want either dual 4 or dual 1 ohm subs to achieve a 1 ohm load. since youre looking at 10's i think its safe to say you want more SQ than SPL, though i could very well be wrong.

SSA Store - Sundown Audio SA-10 Subwoofer

SSA Shop- SSA Dcon 10D4 Sub woofer300watt rms

SA-10 will be louder but the dcon will sound better and cost quite a bit less. there are plenty of other choices but those are just my suggestions

Going in the back of a jeep wrangler, so sounding good an't going to happen. What wattage do i need per speaker?
400-600w per sub would be ideal. you don't need to run the amp at full tilt, so if you chose a lower power handling sub like the dcon's, it would be best to run the amp at like 800w

guys he another guy who doesnt have a clue about the brands we know.

op, do a little more research on this forum before you buy anything. we see tons of guys like you come into this forum not knowing what to buy and/or just waste their money on overpriced(JL) equipment.

Not knowing brands and what size speakers to match amps is why i am here. Now if i knew everything i would not have a reason to be here would i. I'm not asking which brand is better than another because every which brand someone has is always the best, right. I just asked if i have a mono 1000w amp what wattage subs would i need, that's it. Do i need 300rms ea, 500rms ea, 1000rms ea, etc.

Im a little confused about your confusion. You seem to realize your amplifier is capable of producing 1000 watts, and you know you are wanting 2 subwoofers, so it just seems like you'd realize each sub is going to receive approximately 500 watts. Im not trying to be a ********, Im just saying maybe Im missing what the real question is here.

Multiple coils on one sub simply means more flexibility to wire up to different amplifiers. Class D's tend to have peak output at 1ohm, class A/B's tend to peak at 4ohms. So a sub with dual 2ohm coils could be wired up to either a Class D, parallel the coils for a 1ohm mono load, or wired up to a class A/B, series the coils for a 4ohm mono load. You need a final load of 1ohm mono for your amplifier, so two subs with single 2ohm coils, or two dual voice coil subs with 4ohm coils or 1ohm coils.

What's your budget?

What your space available?

Are you going to build the box yourself?

Is there a reason you've decide on two 10's specifically?

Are you saying you do, or dont, want advice on which sub to chose?

The more info you provide to us, the better our answers can be.

The box is going behind the rear seat in a jeep wrangler. Only 10's will fit. I don't what to put big $$$ subs that will more than likely get lifted anyway. Not looking for contest grade sound in a jeep. Just looking for some thumping. If i have to down grade the amp to say 500-1w to keep the price of subs down, i can trade it. This set-up will never be judged at a contest. The cheaper the better as long as they thump.

I would go with the dcons or DC level 2s for the reason that amp is not putting out 1000 watts. Last time I heard of that series getting clamped it was 125 shy of rated.

That was a while ago so the might be better now
