Caps are a gimmick and not needed, but the standard is typically 1 farad for each 1,000w.

I am willing to do the required stuff but like I said it's just a waste of money since I'm getting a new truck n January and I didn't know until bout 20 minutes ago that capacitors were bad for the electrical..

Do the big three, leave more wire than needed for when you get the new vehicle and swap it over? thats what seems pretty logical to me.
