What should i tune too? Two Type R's in a Ext Cab Dodge

Ok fellas im looking for a little advice on what i should tune my Type R 12's too. They are going to be sitting in one big Wedge enclosure with a total of 5.3 cubes. I listen to all kinds of music. Anyways id like to stay above 34hz if at all possible.

They will be in a 1998 Dodge ram Ext cab.

Yes i have, i am just thinking it may be a bit different inside a Truck rather than a Trunk

It will be different, but not easily predictable. Your best bet is to tune for maximum efficiency without taking the vehicles cabin gain into consideration. If it's too loud during the low frequencies after that, eq down a little.

Believe it or not, this is the best approach. I'd also recommend tuning lower if you are truly listening to all types of music. A 34hz tune will be a little peaky with a 12" sub on some material. I'd think more in the neighborhood of 28hz, personally.

Ok i will take that into consideration. Altough i have noticed that the type r's lose ALOT of efficiency under 33-34hz and i wasnt satisfied at all

Start at 44 and see what it does. I'd use aero ports because it makes tuning the box easier. I have 2 12" type r's in a box slightly smaller than yours and with 1500 watts i hit 144.7 at the headrest. My two freinds have had 2 12" type r's in their extended cab trucks and tuned to 47 or 48 and with 2500 watts they were hitting 147 and 149

 
post up some pics with specs of the box/ tuning/port area.... 5.3cu. ft. after displ? how much power?
yes, 5.3 after displ, and its off an alpine m1000 so roughly 500+rms each

what is their net volume of their boxes?

 
Were is the port at... And to be honest Dodge trucks **** for spl.... SQ they sound good but never really hit any good number with out alot of testing and power. Taking from past installs and from my dodge.

 
4 cu ft. maybe alittle bigger. I can't say for sure what exactly it is because they prolly dont even know but i know it's around that. but we build the boxes and then just test alot and then build another box off stuff we learned fom the last one and so on but i'm 99 percent positive 4 cu ft would be ideal for spl
