wrong enclosure for 06 xxx?

I have a 06 xxx 12 in a 1.8 cubed sealed box powered by a concept 2400. The sub absolutely destroys the lows, but is very lacking in higher frequencies. I listen to mostly rap and maybe 1 out of every 5 songs is loud at all. It sounds more like a ported 15 than a sealed 12. It almost sounds like it's underpowered on such frequencies, but it clearly isn't based on the lower frequencies. Wrong box or did i have the wrong expectations for this sub? Any help is appreciated. Could you also give a few examples of songs that are loud and some that are not?

I would check crossovers and EQ as well. The box may also be a tad large. IDK what RE recommends but it seems big for a 12

The only thing is that your LP settings won't let it hit the highs, or the box is too big. Or you sub maybe just doesn't like the highs?

I completely forgot to set my low pass filters so they were at 80hz. Bass goes from -10 to 10 and is at -4 and then sub level goes from -10 to 10 as well and set at 4. Head unit is a kenwood ddx6019. Songs that are loud are like any young jeezy really... put on, air force ones, etc.. Songs that aren't so loud that I know slam from other systems are lil wayne- a milli, lollipop.... sorry I'm trying to think mainstream so it's stuff you have heard and thats all I can really come up with off the top of my head. I took it out because I had some 8w7s laying around, but I'm going to go put it back in right now to play around with. Won't take me but 20 or 30 minutes so I'll keep my eye on the thread.

First, flatten out the bass to 0 instead of -4. Many headunits that have the "bass" EQ is centered around 60hz or so and that won't affect the 20-50hz range much. Try turning the LPF up some and see if it makes a difference. If not, then it could be cabin acoustics and/or the enclosure/sub combination.
