I plan on getting a the whole subwoofer package in my stock 09 BMW 328 i. If i just want a basic system to listen to rap and to increase my bass. What should I look into and how much do you think I should be spending. Also, Is installation expensive? I am hoping to only spend around 500$...

Installation is something you should do your self....its VERY simple and easy to do...

You could go with a single 12 ported in a custom box (built yourself if possible)

to manufacturers specs and an amp to power it.

You can get a pretty nice 12" sub for around 250.

Amp you could also get into for that much.

Look for a used amp and have enough cash for a box build.
