What should i get

Ive heard capacitors are useless and I should just get a big 3 upgrade instead. I have an 1800 watt amp so should I get a capacitor or just do the big 3? I dont even know if my headlights dim when the bass drops because I havent hooked it up yet but I assume they will because I have all stock under the hood. please let me know what the best option would be. thanks!

upgrade your big 3 before you get a cap. you can decide later if it's necessary. also make sure you use a good size wire and proper ground. if you're running 1800 rms I'd suggest 1/0 gauge wire

will i really NEED a big 3 upgrade or will it run off the stock? I will get a big 3 upgrade but im running low on cash right now can i just hook it up without doing any damage? also its 1800 peak
What amp and model number?

And dont waste money on a cap

Yeah as long as u can get to the power wire from the alternator easily. Grounds are easy. Reach pacustomz and has a good price for big 3 and already set and ready to attatch no need to crimp. I did my big 3 and i have only been into this for 6 months. Easy to do. U can keep ur old wires connected bc some alts require u to keep the main power cable connected. I made that mistake so its ok to put the new cables over old same for grounds

DO NOT GET A CAP yes they are useless for the most part. i would upgrade the big 3 and then hook up the system and see how it works out. other wise if its to much just pick up a decent 2nd battery to go in back by the amp to help out. you shouldnt need a bigger alt to run a 1800watt amp. how big is your stock alt

Id suggest gettin a agm under the hood if he doesnt have one over adding a second battery on top of a weak old stock batt

Ok so my alt is 85 amp stock i guess, looked it up. (98 subaru legacy gt) You know any good stores or sites to get an agm?I assume agm.com?
Lol no ..a agm is a type of battery absorbed glass mat .sams has duracell agm for around 130 bucks..best bang for the buck..and will help u out far more than a cap
