What should I get?

Contemplating what in-dash DVD package I should get...looking at either the Clarion VRX-755VD with the DVH940 5.1 processor and SRK5 center channel, or, the Alpine IVA-D310 with the PXA-H701 processor, not sure on the center channel though.

The upside to the Clarion is that it has better iPod interface, and will be about $200 cheaper. The Alpine has a better 5.1 processor (as far as equalization and processing goes), and I will also have the optical connection from processor to screen, as opposed to CeNet connection from Clarion's processor to screen.

Both extremley good head units. But I found some flaws in the Alpine and some upsides, and so with the Clarion. My pick from the two of them would be the Clarion mainly because that features are almost identical and it's $200 cheaper.

But if it was me I would go with a Kenwood KVT-815, but thats a biast opinion

For some reason I just don't like the Kenwood screens.

I can get the Alpine for about $1000, around $300 for the processor. The Clarion I can get for around $800, not sure on the processor. Add in a center channel (the Clarion I can get for around $75, and it's a sweet looking center channel, 1/2 DIN size dash mount- looks really sweet. Plus, the iPod adaptor- Alpine I can get for around $100, Clarion I need a $40 cable.

What have you found that you don't like about the Alpine? I've got to mess around with the Clarion, but haven't been able to use the Alpine yet.

Nice picture...but I'm not a fan of the functionality.

Also forgot to mention that I will probably be adding Sirius and going with the direct tuner. The Jenson isn't Sirius ready. Also, no touch screen, AFAIK, no 5.1 processor controls.
