ok i know i am an idiot for doing this but for right now it's all i can afford. i got my MA audio 1500 watt max 1 ohm stable mono block amp put in my car the other day and right now i'm running 4 RF HE 12"s on it. it is running at a 2 ohm mono load putting out 700rms and 1000max. should i keep that setup and build a new custom box and amp rack or should i buy 2 HE2's run them in series down to a 1 ohm mono load and get the full 1500 max out of that amp?? don't suggest other speaker's to run b/c right now i have no cash and can get those subs at work with replacement plans letting me blow them every 3 weeks and just take em out and replace em. so what you guys think i should do?? thanks for the help

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif i don't understand WHY you need that much bass. plus....watts doesn't always mean SPL/SQ

well to be honest dude i would bet your a newbie. but the reason i need that much power is to compete and b/c i like it. i compete for spl and that's honestly why i need that much bass. also who said anything about spl/sq. and yes if you mean more watts don't mean more spl your full of bull, the more power you run the louder the system. that would be like saying a jensen sub running off a pyramid amp couldn't be louder with more power. beside's not to be rude but i wanted suggestions on what people think i should do.

It seems to me like your choosing between getting better subs and giving them more power, or just keeping more subs. Is that basically the question? So doesn't you own statement that more power = more SPL dictate that you should go with the HE2's. That would be my choice.

to be honest, no i'm not a newbie. secondly, you didn't say you were competing, i thought you just had this as your daily driver.

anyway, if your subs have a terrible sensitivity rating, your system would still **** no matter how much power you give it...

Sensitivity

An efficiency or sensitivity rating tells you how effectively a speaker converts power into sound. The higher the number, the more efficient the speaker and the louder it will play with the same input power. An efficient speaker helps you maximize your available power. Most sensitivity ratings measure the speaker's output with 1 watt of input, 1 meter from the speaker. Some speakers' sensitivity is measured with 2.83 volts of input, instead of 1 watt.

does your rf rep ever stop into your best buy? ours does about this time a year ..save up or contact him if you are aloud to i think you'll be suprised what you might be able to do once a year.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I would stick with the 4 12's myself. With a well built box and add some dynamat if you havnt yet and get a crossover if you dont have one, after all thats done and youve tuned it, those 4 12's would make you very proud I imagine.

Well If your comp purpose only just wire all four of those subs into parlell before the comp and dont leave your amp on very long. I am not sure though I dont know much about MA audio amps but most quality amps should be able to run in lows ohms for a little period without getting to hott. Or just run two of them like you said but personally I would run 3 of them into a 0.5 ohm load your amp should take that because 4 would be just too low of an ohm for that amp lol.
