What should i do?!?!

Now before any of you say anything about my choic in subs/amp, i got them at a great deal is the only reason im using them.

My equipment

Deh-6500bt head unit (upgrading soon)

6v line driver

Re audio xtx 3000.1 ( 600rms at 4 1000 @2 and like 1400 at 1)

Two re audio se-x 15" subs dual 2 ohm coils.

Now comes to the question, i have about 5-6cubic feet of trunk space in my 08 cobalt, and im just wondering which will be louder.

1 sub on 600 rms in a 4 cuft box tuned too 34hz.

Advantages:

No need for a bigger alt.

Box is built to maximum ported box specs.

Can sell the sub for some money for better door speakers.

Or run two in a 4cuft sealed box on 1000w rms.

Advantages:

More surface area(possibly louder)

Using the amp to a better potential.

Actually making the $40 i spent on 0 gauge for the big 3 worthwhile.

Im open to all opinions, ill prolly build the box Tuesday, so i wanna know what yall think.

But I thought it was like this. Doubling power=3db doubling subs=3db and ported box=3. So theoretically if i understand right, I'd get 6db increase off two sealed on twice power than if i just did one sub....but im not sure if it is supposed too be +3 for double surface area.

Wait so if i understand correctly, I'd get a 3db gain if i used both, but 3 db won't be that big? I really wanna hit 140, but due too space limitations, and more importantly my budget, it dosnt look like itll happen.

I'd run the single sub in a good ported box for sure.

And I'd still do the big 3, you're still adding strain the electrical system wasn't designed for and it will still benefit from it.

Just run that til you can afford an ho alt and what not

Gaining 3 db by doubling cone area or power is a generalization. A dumb one. Maybe true 1/10 times. There are many other factors that come into play.

Thanks everyone for the input. I am prolly gonna end up just running 1. I did the big 3 a few days ago, so i should be good. I am assuming i can sell the other sub for about $70, and with that i can go with some slightly lower end components
