ok i got 2 12 inch pioneer premier subs, SVC 4ohm, and they are off a pioneer 800w amp... 360RMS@2ohms... and i the subs are each 400 RMS. anyways they keep cutting when going past certain volumes, and the volume is differnt on each song and bass

now should i run just one sub to that amp and take out the other sub, build a diff sealed box for the one 12.. or should i keep the two subs

they are in a 3.5 cube sealed box

run just one sub to test it, then run the other sub by itself. This way you can start to narrow down the issues you are having. the subs should not be cutting in and out and going up and down volume wise. You could have a bad ground on the amp or bad rca's or the rca's could be bent or smashed, your gain could be set wrong. you need to find the problem and then go from there

If you have two 4 Ohm SVC subs then together they can be wired parallel to a 2 Ohm nominal load:

If the amp you have is 360w @ 2 Ohms RMS and you wire your subs like the above diagram then cool, I reckon, but you'll only be feeding each sub 180w RMS.

In my mind, barring any settings and/or wiring issues I would suggest that the amp cutting off may have something to do with the fact that you're asking more of it than it can do for you?
