My system as of now is as follows:

HU- Alpine CDA-9805 50W x 4

Front door speakers - Sony 3-way XS-R1311 5 1/4"(Specs Peak power 160W Rates power 35W Impedance 4ohms 89dB)

Rear Panel speakers - Pioneer TS-163P Dual Cone 6 1/2" (Specs Peak 100W Nominal power 20W 4ohms 92dB)

The unit has no amp and no subs. Right now it sounds ok, but I am not satisfied with ok I want more power and more clean clear bass.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Ricky

get new speakers an amp and a sub.

on a budget:

AVIONIXX AXA 440.4 amp for speakers 85x4 $149+ship

fronts : Diamond Audio motorsport M3 M351 5.25 components $119+ ship

rears: KICKER SSMB6 6.5 midbass $119 + ship

subwoofer: OZ Audio Matrix Elite Me10.4 $160 + ship

amplifier for sub: XTANT 301A R SUB AMPLIFIER 600watts @2ohm $137.50 + ship

so there you have a seriously bada$$ system with amazing SQ and good performance what else could you ever want for 684.50 + ship //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Is your Head Unit Stock? If so, get a new one, unless it pumps out at least 40x4.

Your not getting any thump because your speakers are too small, i'd go with some nice 6x9's, but you might need to modify the rear deck, and since your door panels probably have small stock holes, i'd go with Kickers, there is a tutorial on this web site one how to build them. Because your not going to get much bass out of the door panel if you have tiny speakers in them.

One more thing, Your door panels shouldn't over power your rear speakers, because your rear can go with bigger speakers and they have alot more air behind them to get more thump, you system would probably be better even if all you did was put your front speakers in the back, and the back to the front.

your speakers sound like there low in power too, which might be because you only have what your deck is pumping out, One option you have if you unit has preouts, is get a 50x4 rms amp, and that way you don't have to change you unit if your not confident in doing it, but they cost about as much as a unit these days, and they pump out the same amount of power, so it's up to you.

a hu will never have enough clean power to get any speaker to its full potential (although ive seen the higher alpines get pretty loud) interior speakers are not going to give u 'thump' because theyre not designed to, an amp and a sub and a nice front stage would be your way to go.

ps - a deck rated at 40x4 isnt putting out 40w rms, i can assure you
