what kind of sub would u recommend?

hello- let me first start by saying i do not have much knowledge about car audio. i had a boston gt-22 amp and infinity perfect 12" dvq installed roughly a month ago. it was wired up 500 x 1 (2 ohms) and sounded pretty good. then yesterday my sub blew. i didnt have the volume ridiculously high, a little more than half way up. i cant figure out if i just had a defective sub or if i blew it cuz of too much power. i have warranty on the amp, but not on the sub. Sorry to hear that. You might have had your gains turned up too high. A Alpine type R should fit the bill. Good luck!

you want dual 4 ohm, assuming you want it to be wired to 2 ohms

i would go with the Alpine Type R sub also.

i would go with an IDQ 15" because i enjoy SQ. You may want to get loud and in that case i would also go with a Type-R.

IMO Type Rs sound like dirt in everything but the optimum settings. (To me, it) Will sound like crap compared to the Infinity. He's looking to UPGRADE, not potentially sacrifice sound quality for output.

i didnt blow mine and i gave it around 1300rms, but whats your budget type R's are a bti power hungry and like bigger boxes. So budget and how much room u have?
