What happened to Pioneer?

Seriously? I am in the market for a new head unit in my car and have been actively shopping any and all brands.

Pioneer's current offerings feel SO cheap! Even the 2-din nav models' 3 or so buttons are very lose fitting and cheap feeling. I am just saddened to see a company build products so far below their own standards from not so long ago.

The big surprise fo me were some of the Kenwood units. Much better build than they had a few years ago.... maybe the two are just trading places?

a step in the wrong direction compared to others on the market

Look at Clarion, I dropped Pioneer for Clarion this year. I have been very please with Clarion, no problems good stock and amazing picture on their video stuff.

I was a diehard Pioneer fan. Waited for their F series to come out, only to find they were having a ton of problems with them. Went with a Kenwood DD and coudnt be happier.

I've only used Pinoeer so far, and just picked up an 880. The faceplate does seem to be a bit on the "light" side. Amazing styling though.

It does, however, perform above my expectations.

Pioneer's build quality is a big problem.

I've been running Pioneer HUs since I was 16 and I'm now 23, I recently just gave up on them and bought an Alpine. Much better unit IMO
