What gauge wire for my setup?

Hi everybody, pretty new to the car audio scene. I just recently picked up 2 12" Kicker solo baric L5's in a sealed box and I'm going to be powering them with a Hifonics BX 1000 D amp. I was wondering what gauge do you think I should run to power the amp 4 gauge?. Oh I'm also going to be running a seperate small 4 channel amp to power my components, so both amps will be on the same power wires.

Any help welcome,

Pat

Thanks for the response guys, I'm takin my time to do this to make sure I get it done right. Is there any advantage to using a distribution block rather than staight hardwiring?

Much easier to remove just one wire if need be, cleaner, and just plainly a better way to install.

I'd go w/4 ga split to 8's, but there's nothing wrong with room to upgrade.
ignore that; with any luck you'll get addicted to car audio like the rest of us and don't want to rewire your whole car when you go bigger and better. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

he's right......if u use the 1/0 awg wire now and have a distribution block at the end..your good...becuz once u get addicted now...its a wrap...u are going to want more power and half your job is done by not rewiring your whole car...u will have the wire already in place so all your connections will be at the block..

Yeah, I can definetly see myself getting addicted. As I have with most of the hobbies I've gotten into. And I want to make sure I do it right first so I don't have to go back later and rewire everything.
