What gauge speaker wire?

Hello, I was wondering what gauge speaker wire do I use for my 2 swr-12d2 to hook up to my hifonics brutus brz1700.1d amp at 2ohms. Also what is a good brand for speaker wire? Thanks

for that amp 12 gauge is fine. but those subs could use more power.

okay thanks. Really? I didn't want to do a big 3 upgrade thats y. I wanted to wired my subs to 2ohms and 2ohms to my amp. Do you think its good?

It will work. Just check your voltage on hard bass notes. You'll be at 2 ohms, so the most you'll be pushing is 1k rms. Those r's can take 1k rms each, that's why the amp isn't going to be ideal.

1000w is fine. Even at 2kw you'd have a difference in output that would be audible, but far from obvious, and the stress on your electrical system would be much worse.

There are MANY brands that make decent speaker wire.

I just bought some 12 awg sky high on ebay that was really cheap and plenty thick.

Definitely, but won't hurt anything.
