What gauge install kit.

Well its been quite a while since I've done an install and I've forgotten the math on what gauge wiring to use and Im getting ready to do one within the next week or so. Here is my system.

Polk Audio PA660.4 - 75x4 - 300w RMS total @ 4ohm - Class AB

Polk Audio PA880.1 - 500+x1 RMS @1ohm - Class AB

2x TC Sounds TC-1000 DVC 12" wired at 1ohm

4x Polk MOMO 6 1/2s (forgot exact model they are around 3 years old)

I've been looking at a Kicker 4ga Dual Amp kit at work, but I've never worked with kicker wiring, but I can get it for relatively cheap and well within the price range of the lower end brands 4ga kits.

Should I go with the old adage of go big or go home (0ga off brand kit), or should a 4ga Kicker kit work out just fine?

Thanks for the help folks.

Thanks, but I think Ill have to go with the Kicker in that case since it is dual a amp kit, working on a very tight budget and already dropped more then I should have and I can get the kicker for only $2 more, which stinks, love Tsunami wire when I have used it in the past.

But it does sound like everyone is agreement, 4ga should be enough for a theoretical max of about 1500w Peak power?

But again thanks eL_wEEnIe for the offer.

Hmm last time i ran my 0ga kit it was a 17ft kit and i had about 3-4 feet extra...so im going to say its about 14ft run. Which according to your chart there looks like the 4ga falls right in a sweet spot with the power capabilities of the amps, if Im not off in my math, which is very possible.

Im at work right now or I would run out and take a rough measurement, its in a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder for reference.

Thank yah folks, will be the first purchase i head out to make in the morning, then i can at least get the wiring laid before work tomorrow.

In fact now that Im thinking about it i was looking at mounting my amps under my front seats since they are so much smaller then my old ones, that would cut a good 4ft off of the install length as well.
