I had a great idea for a system after seeing some smug B*tches in town. What if somebody put a huge system in a Prius? Think about it. The whole car is filled with nicke-metal hydride batteries to begin with. If it can power the engine it can power the shit out of 2 18s

The prius uses NiMH batteries? That's ****ing stupid. Nimh architecture is still very susceptible to charge memory............ Oh wait, I understand now. Planned obsolence. When I was buying my car the sales people were talking about how they hated hybrids and how after about 5years the batteries go to shiit so they arent worth anything on a trade in. I drove one for giggles and they are slow as balls and only got like 45 to the gallon. My car burns gas and gets 37 if im nice to the gas pedal. I also lurked the prius forum and the people over there were saying it takes about 745w to get 1HP. They were talking about putting small systems in the car but nothing bigger than 800 rms to keep the MPGs up LOL.

Actually always thought about this myself when I contemplated getting a Hybrid a few years ago. Didn't even know if it was really possible. Still really don't.

Idk if youve ever driven a prius or insight but they barely make it up hills as it is lol. Most of the beasts people build dont end up doing so well on the street anyway. I wonder if it would kick in its little engine for when the battery was low.
