What do you guys think of the New Beetles?

Hey yne, I am a VW fan too... When my buddy comes back late summer form the army we are putting together a 1600cc VW sandrail and a couple older beetle cars, will be fun... You also have a ZX which is still a favorite of mine (lucky bastard)

Whats the MPG on a turbo again?

i like the pre-70's beetles, the ones from the 70's were ugly as shit.
I don't know crap about the older beetles... But they are so easy to work on I will likely have no problems helping my buddy fix his. I cant wait to drive the sandrail... It's almost done, only needs ignition, an oil change, some floorboard reienforcement and away we go.

hows the tile biz going Eugenics? Still boxing? Follow up on that internship with MTV?
The bizz is going well, we finalized on selling the company a while ago. I am going to start work for a company that flips houses. I'll be taking a minor paycut but i'll be learning a new aspect of construction and real estate so it will prove to be quite valuable i suspect.

As for boxing, i just dont have enough time, and the MTV thing will probably be sometime next year should i still choose to head in that direction with my career. Im headed upto NY in a month or so to talk about some things.

Awesome. I havent' been doing much, going to business school. Have my foot in the door of one blossoming company (insurance salvage), and will be learning to make wine professionally pretty soon here. Other than that I'm unemployed, kina looking for part time work atm.

i was just about to ask you... but i guess you answered for me, cool. you can always do construction and pick up a trade there. the pay starting out is great and you can advance quickly if you keep working hard. the thing is you dont want to be stuck doing it. make sure its just used until you find a launching pad. nobody wants to be one of the 50 year old **** ups that has no future anymore. although they do tell great storys.

I really hate construction man... Ever since I was 13 I did it on and off and hated it. What really drove it home was concrete contracting.. worked one day in that shii and said screw that.

I can work with the best of them but construction is not for me. I get occasional work with the salvage company and it's 10 plus doillars an hour clear of taxes...

But next semester of college hitting 18 credits and commuting so I'm not always gonna be there when they need me to unload semi trucks etc.

Probably going to get another resturant job or something.

Well, drove it about 80 miles...

It is comfortable to ride in. Any idiot could drive one, the stickshift and the clutch are the most forgiving I have ever driven, you can miss shifts and still recover easily. THe steering is light and precise, slightly numb, but the turning radius is insane... I can pull out of one parking space and into another one space down. The rattles are pretty bad, the road noise is tolerable but annoying.

I drag raced a taurus in the lights and lost because I lost the tires... revved it some and let the clutch out (within reason though, the car is not mine) and the tires spun after it got rolling and the clutch was out. There is power there...

The car in question has a smokers interior (stinks) and there is alot of little things wrong with it, such as the check engine light, the serpentine belt, and some of the brake rotors are worn unevenly. There is one major dent (pictured) and 7 smaller dents.

Not gonna get it. Too much wrong. Too expensive.

The dealer sticker price is 12k.. Hoping to get it for 7.5k, or bust. If it has been obviously beaten I will pay no more.
my gf bought hers last year for 3800. 100k miles, but we figured if it gets her to and fro for the next year or two, it was well worth it. super clean car. maintenence records. the guy was just a commuter.

they're great cars, handle like gokarts. if i had that money though i'd probably buy a lexus SC300, should have great leg room, preform great, be reliable, and its basically a non showy supra.... same platform.
