What do you guys think of the New Beetles?

Looking at a 2000 VW Beetle, 5spd black with the 2.0. Has tinted 'dows, leather, and a sunroof.

No pics now (later...) but what do you think of the VW bugs?

A guy at my school has a yellow turbo one thats modded. Just not anything I would buy. But if you like it thats what matters.

they're good cars, they're built on the same platform as the audi tt. but the 2.0l is a dog and they're a ***** to work on. i bought one a year or so ago to put a system in and use as a sq car. but i got the interior apart, started working on it and completly lost intrest. i think i've driven it maybe 5 times since i bought it, its sitting in my companys warehouse right now. not the best toy i've ever owned. still good cars though.

nah, get a gti over the beetle...

Also, if you care about reliablility and gas milage, get the 2.0. If you want some kind of remote power, get the 1.8t or vr6.

the 2.0 gets HORRIBLE gas mileage i think i recorded 21 on a 200 mile trip when i brought the car home.

the 2.0 gets HORRIBLE gas mileage i think i recorded 21 on a 200 mile trip when i brought the car home.

Must have been bad on maitenance... I constantly pull 30 mpg. In summer or on road trips, I pull low 30s.
