People being willing to work for less than the next guy so employers can keep getting the same thing done without paying more over time.. If there isn't a surplus of work force, employers can't stay competitive with wages (on the low side).. And, now that we are moving farther into the Information Age, we need TECHNICAL people more than anything.. Part of the problem there isn't laziness.. it's that we don't have enough smart people to fill those jobs (why do you think we give so many visas to technically skilled people from other countries..) The point here is, the unskilled people (and even a decent portion of lower-middle class skill leveled people) don't have jobs to go to.. It's easy to say "if you want a job you can get one" if you are a white male (mostly who say that, from my experience).. There are only so many McDonald's jobs out there.. And, with the population explosion we have going on, there are even more people than available jobs..

 

I agree that welfare needs some reform.. no question, but it's something we need unless you want crime to go up.. You put these people on the street with NO way to get by, and they will do what it takes (the survival instinct is damm strong)..

 

Course, things would be a LOT better if the SUPER-RICH in this country weren't so greedy (but that's part of our economy too).. if they would let prices come down or stop having the government letting them get away without paying their fair share..

EDIT: Oh, and if you want to send money to your grandparents, get a better job making more money.. then you can pay your fair share to the government for the protection, etc.. and have money to spare to send to your grandfather.. why should I pay for your daughters ****ty mother to buy your daughter christmas and birthday presents and make sure that she has a NICE t.v.. oh thats right she is on welfare, and god forbide you be on welfare and work so you must have a nice t.v. to watch all the soaps.

and as far as my grandparents. my family personally paid for every cent of her hospital bills that there insurance didn't cover. that is out of a family of 11 children and my parents paid for every cent of it. My grandfather on the other hand isn't a lazy ******** like your babys momma is and won't lose the respect he has gained in his 80 years of life by stealing the hard gained money of those that know what it means to work and have pride.

And she is gainfully employed in a skilled profession and will most likely be paying taxes for a long time to come, and pay a hell of a lot MORE to the overall cause then she every borrowed..

I was in the house for 2 days and her parents never knew it..). *** wasn't even on my mind.. Apparently you don't understand math (3%) or the term "unemployment".. it means 3% of our population (that would currently be around 8.5 million people) DO NOT HAVE JOBS AND THERE ARE NO JOBS FOR THEM.. If there were jobs for everyone, the ability to keep wages down would go away and the economy would collapse.. get it? And, you can NOT just walk into 'any McDonalds' and get a job.. Granted, a LOT of fast food places are usually looking for help, but .. like I said.. there are NOT enough jobs (nor can there ever be in our economic model) for everyone.. let a lone 2..

And, how do you expect someone to pay for day-care if they have a child (more to the point, a baby that can't fend for it's self) and work at McDonalds? You are trying to say someone should work 2 full time jobs which would require someone to watch the child ~16 hours a day, which costs MONEY.. and normally it's not much less than minimum wage.. unless you want your child in some rat-infested crap hole that's unsafe.. maybe you don't mind if your children live like that, but most human beings would rather not risk loosing their kids so they can barely get by, if at all..

Sure would like to know what the politician's answer was all about.. I made a statement that the money we send to places like Saudi Arabia ends up in the hands of only a precious few people.. you then provided a link making an implication that there was some info in there that would contradict what I said.. there wasn't.. so what was the point of you giving that link? And the 'gov stats' link was useless to (as far as getting proof of what the US consumes versus other countries)..

Yeah, It was only 8 grand, but you know how much my annual insurance is? It's a little over $4,000. Yes, 4 grand for insurance a year. So in 2 years, I will have paid enough insurance to buy 2 95 pathfinders, I have NY. when i said that i was mad at people who were rushing into war, i said it was because they had no legitamate reason at all...you do and have knowledge on it unlike some.

i agree with you in that sadaam is bad...i think that inspectors are almos useless in iraq b/c they can only go where they are escorted to by iraqi guards....
