diplomicy obviously hasn't worked. how long was clinton. I know that you guys know your history. more so than I do. but chew on this. diplomacy didn't work in WWI dipolmacy didn't and couldn't work in WWII, and diplomacy CAN'T WORK FOR FOR WWIII. You can't deal with mad men. we couldn't deal with hitler, and we won't deal with terroist.

I never said that killing Saddam wasn't a GREAT idea.. I think it would be the smartest thing our gov did.. god knows they have done a LOT worse things than kill some psycho man.. Yes, Saddam is most likely mad, but that's not the only issue..

I was just watching the news .. Saddam is trying to be helpful (perhaps a day late and dollar short.. the truth is, WE DON'T know what was/is going on.. the media dictates what we get to know, and the government controls that to a large degree). Maybe we scared him, maybe he was never blocking us like we were told.. who knows.. we won't know for sure.. all we know is that, for the moment at least (and we don't really know, we susspect) he is trying to work with us/NATO again.. Should we still go in and blow the hell out of the entire country? I say no.. If you have to do something, hire an assasin and kill the shit head..

As for Clinton.. like we said before.. chances are terrorists have been scamming for a long time, but they didn't act.. within months of Bush comming in and, like you, deciding diplomacy isn't working so he cut off talks.. then boom.. coincedence? maybe.., don't know for sure.. but as long as you are paying attention (read: have spy missions going on over Iraq, etc) while you are trying to talk someone down, you have a lot less chance of negative action against you.. No one is sugesting that you can sovle any problem with diplomacy.. but it can sure be a way to buy time while you try to find other solutions that doesn't cost American lives..

And, again.. as much as it sucks to admit it and even though I hate saying it.. these 'psyco' extremeists that hate the US actually have a little merrit.. Do I want them to attack the US.. NO, of course not.. I don't want my life to be in danger either.. Can I understand where they are comming from? yes.. UNFORTUNATELY.. makes me sick to be able to understand why they hate us.. And, their fanaticisim isn't just something Muslim or outside of our culture.. anyone remember when the religious freaks were bombing abortion clinics? INTERNAL TERRORISM.. you guys think we should go to war with the catholic church? prolly not, huh? Anyway.. This isn't going anywhere.. The intent of this thread (as I see it) was to see who thought we should go to war and who thinks we shouldn't.. If Saddam really is working on 'weapons of mass destruction', then sure.. bomb the shit out of the places that are producing.. enter into a ground war to boost popularity and try and save a fuked up economy? not sure I think that's a good idea.. Actually, keeping your oppenent on uncertian ground is one of the oldest political/strategic acts of all time.. If he gives us a hard time about certian areas, we really want to get into them.. while we are wasting resources trying to get in, he slides something around the back way..

I have no idea if he and Osama are in cahoots.. If we see them together, then blast them both.. otherwise it's not something to be seriously concerend about at this point..

We know Saddam hates us and is psycho enough to attack us if we don't watch him, so we keep an eye on him.. He knows we are watching him so he's not gonna do too much or he's gonna draw attention to himself.. And trust me, there is no reason we can't do sattelite recon over Iraq and see just about everything thats going on.. and send spy planes over and keep an eye on them.. if we see anything problematic, blast it.. *shrug* Course, that's what we are kind of trying to do now, just with no proof.. I mean, if we had some recon photos of missles moving around and showed them to NATO, we'd be in like Flynn..

People... Do you realize how that ballot for saddam was taken?

Most of that "blood support" was likely from the people being beaten into signing for his campaign. Think about it... HOW do you make your entire country of people agree with you? You don't... You force them to.

Me? I'm tired of sitting idle and watching our country become the focus for some idiotic fanatics, I think it's time to start head hunting as they have already proven to us several times over that they don't care how many of our own they kill, military or otherwise.

Actually, given that the media is a business, and business is about making money, and the more you slob the gov knob the easier it is to get money.... (gettin that?) you might want to reconsider the leftist statement.. 'left' is liberal.. liberal is ani-sensorship.. in case you haven't noticed, we are just now (over the past 2 or 3 years) getting into a place where you can utter some words that could be considered 'swear' words.. you can say ***, *****, bastard and a few others now, couldn't before.. Don't know about you, but I've been using those words for 20 years now (since early teenage years).. taken a LONG time for TV to start to catch up to common life...

As far as proof, I have no idea.. I've not watched CNN since about a week after 9/11.. If we had 'proof' then why won't NATO go with us? My issue is with the people that have NO understanding of the real reasons why we are here.. it's not just because Saddam (and Oasama) are psycho.. it's because the world view of Americans is FALLING fast.. why? most Americans ****.. Do I want to have to worry about a nuke going off in our country? hell no (and since I live in the city where NORAD is located, I think I have plenty to worry about).. Do I want to have our country take actions that are reasonable to ensure our safety? yes.. Do I feel bad that we are partly to blame for where we are? yes.. Do I contribute to part of those perceptions? unfortunately I do to an extent.. I drive my truck.. I've stopped recycling my aluminum cans because the pickup schedule is all messed up and there is a lot of crap to do to get stuff picked up here.. it's too easy to just toss the cans in the trash.. Have I ever used disposable plastics? yeah.. but I try to minimize that by having a razor that only has the blade that gets tossed and I use the electric mostly, the other is for touchup so each head lasts me about 2 months.. I try not to use styrofoam at all.. I am partly to blame for why other people in the world hate us.. and there are times that that becomes a consious thought in my head and I try to change my behaviors to be less of a gluttenous ***..
