What Crossover to Use?

I've decided to go with an active set up on my HAT speakers.

I currently have a Pioneer P690UB (brand new) deck still on the box.

Just wondering if I should...

A) Buy a seperate crossover (if so which one). Looking at an ARC Audio IDX or Audio Control 6XS. Feel free to recommend one.

OR

B) Sell the deck I have and buy a deck that will enable me to go active. Maybe the Alpine CDA-9887 or the Pioneer P800PRS. Which one would you suggest and why.

What option would you recommend.

Thanks

The crossover in the HU will allow you to adjust your points on the fly. Then again, most people do a set it and forget thing whereas I am constantly messing with something.

If you think you can live with setting it and forgetting it with minimal changes, go with the addon crossover and call it a day. If you are one who constantly toys with stuff trying to get the best possible sound, get a HU that has a built in crossover.

Time alignment is another feature that will generally be on the head unit but not found in the addon crossover, so that is another thing to consider if you think you will use it. TA can help with making the driver's seat the best sounding seat in the vehicle. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
