i cant stand jl but thats just me

Believe it or not JL has more SQ titles than anyone, beating stuff costing 3 times as much. Most don't use their stuff right. We got 2 13W7 on only 2000 watts doing a 150 at 30hz. Box is nowhere near JLs recommendations.

I did not. There is a old cobalt 5 channel on eBay. It's a bit rough. I want a matching set so I've narrowed it down to PG, PPI, fosgate. Spoony got me looking at the Petra Prowlers

PG had some really sweet limited edition stuff that would also make my top 5 for nostalgia builds. PPI was always solid up to about 2002, but they didn't have anything really iconic IMO.

There's a fella in New Hampshire doing 150 and change on the same subs and power with JL all around. They're expensive buying MSRP but they make nice sounding and reliable equipment. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend buying used JL gear at a fair price.

Not really. Good would be defined as reliable, performs as advertised, and holds resale value.

There are still some that have befn around for a little while. MMATs, DD, JL still makes a lot in house but they had to please the masses

DD 9518 is up there but there are many to choose from. At that point install matters most.

Everything. Box size, port ratios, power, trial and error. When you get to the $600 point you start getting more versitle subs but they also become more picky with install

i will admit, i dont like the JL due to prices, but i had friend with 1 13w7 and jl 1000/1 in a trailblazer and he could 145.x-46 depending the day, and sounded really good doing, i think at like 40 playing music. The W7 13s are nice and the amps are nice, just rich for my blood.
