for christmas and my birthday i got a bunch of money and decided i would like to start learning about car systems. i started looking around tonight and seen some jl w3 12". tweeter.com subs // i read that a 2 channel amp would power 2 speakers and 1 sub. i was wondering if this is correct?and if a 4 channel amp would power 2 subs? what are some perfect amps that would power these 2 subs?

I'll suggest a JP8 amplifier.
I believe you can wire your sub to 2 ohm. It's Dual voice coil 4 ohm, correct?
JP8 @ 2 ohm does 900 watts.
