What a considerate Judicial System

Not true. The government can make way more money taxing pot than charging you fines (just ask the governator). The reason it is illegal in Canada is mostly because of pressure from the states, which is funny because some states are now considering legalizing it. And teh reason it is illegal in the states is because people have been fed so much shit about how bad it is, most would never vote to legalize it.
partially true. the only reason most cop shops are still open is because of busting grow ops... they get a cut or funding out of it... there is a lot of money to be laundered by people whose word matters... but what do I know I am just a nut job that doesnt believe everything fox news says.

My complaint is that rather than giving community service, maybe a few drug tests if they really want, and small things that help the community for my drug charge, why do they make the people pay a good amount of money as well as suspend the license for 6 months, and give a criminal record which keeps me from getting a job that I am lined up for. Its like stealing money and then keeping me from being productive. I need a license to get to and from community services, I need a license to visit my mother, I need a license to work... All these things that keep society moving they have disabled me from because I had a small amount of a drug.
And this is why I stopped smoking weed and got away from everything illegal, because **** never works out.

Doesn't matter that the weed wasn't yours and it doesn't matter how little of it there was, it's an ILLEGAL DRUG.

If you don't like dealing with the consequences, then get away from it.

If you don't want to give up your friends to do it, then stop bitching and pay the fines.

It's called a lesson, you just learned one.

The thing that bothers me the most is that the Conditional Discharge is an option if the judge chooses to allow it. I have not been to court yet, so I won't know for sure until then, but the lieutenant said he had never heard of such a thing and the receptionist at the court said they did not offer such an option.
You don't get it yet. These people are NOT there to help you. They are there to HURT you.

Forget the ******* lieutenant and dumb **** receptionist.. you probably won't get much help from duty council either.. GET YOURSELF A LAWYER SON..

Much worse charges are thrown out of court everyday.. money talks, and bullshit walks...

I will also add that if your roommate pleads guilty and you fight the charge, it is a guarantee that it will be thrown out... not that you can't get it thrown out anyway...

And further.. I'm saddened but not surprised with the responses suggesting that the OP did something wrong.. you are a bunch of sheep, and the reason why such rediculous laws still exist..

I hope you all enjoy paying your hard earned tax dollars into keep the police, court systems, jails, and prisons busy with such things, which otherwise do not and should not matter...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

i was victim of a same sort of situation and got hit with a simple possession charge as well.
